Lenny Kravitz’ 14.9 Million Home For Sale
Posted by Jeff Awesome in Interior Design on August 25th, 2009
Lenny Kravitz the artist responsible for one of the best riffs since 1990 (Are You Gonna Go My Way) is trying to sell his stunning luxury New York City loft. I love it so I am accepting donations towards me buying it at the usual address and also if anyone wants to get me a visa…
The sofas hint at the amount of entertaining Lenny did
But seriously whoever does buy it is going to get a simply beautiful new home, in the 6,000 square feet there are 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, a master suite and 3 extra bedrooms are up the amazing suspended glass stairs and then up another set is the 3,000 square foot tarrace which includes a barbeque and wood burning fire place.
$15.8 To Live In Paradise

According to Stylecrave $15.8 can get you one and a half acres of Arizona land and one stunning house. But apparently no interior design skills. The house from the outside looks amazing and the scenery is a lot better than where I am, but it has to be said, I am not a fan of the inside. Not to say it is awful, its just a bit classic for such a modern house.

Is that wrought iron bannisters? How has that ever been appropriate for anything other than gardens! The reason I actually posted this house though is to show you the absolutely awesome windows! Imagine the views from that, makes me sad I can only see a brick wall from my window.

It does look like it needs some furniture though! Actually I love the minimilist look, just get some magazines to sit on and it will be fine
Last but not least check out the garden, although I presume only a very small part of it.

Churchill’s Sofa
Posted by Jeff Awesome in Interior Design on August 20th, 2009

oh yes! (i’m so very very sorry!) I just found out that Winston Churchill’s very own sofa, used during his second term in office from ‘51 to ‘55, was recently sold for a staggering £7500! Now that is a lot for a sofa, even in the designer world where sofas can cost a lot. Its made even more unbelievable when you see the condition of it, OK condition would be a massive compliment!

Is a sofa really worth that much just because of who owned it? If that is the case imagine if someone like Paris Hilton sold her sofa, It would be worth literally…..a few pennies! An English man living in South Africa was the winning bidder and has been asked for the sofa to be “sympathetically restored”. Personally I very much doubt it would be a sofa that would actually get used so why not leave it in the ratty state it is in now? It would give for a much better story in my opinion.
It was lucky how it was saved because it was going to be scrapped as as broken old sofa, until the owners brother said it would be a shame to destroy it because of its heritage. They decided to auction it off expecting a relatively small amount and were obviously rather pleased with the final price, I know I would be!
