Shelf Speakers

If there is one thing missing from my life and my house it is the fact that for some silly reason my speakers and my shelves are not integrated! Why would I be so stupid? At the moment I have to put my speakers on my shelf like some kind of idiot while the creative gurus over on NoDesign can leave there bookshelves free for actual books!
The Wazz Al is a piece of furniture with a difference, it has two 30 watt speakers integrated into that can pick up WiFi signals and stream mp3′s from a computer or other WiFi streaming station. It’s such an obvious design that is so brilliantly functional I’m kicking myself for not thinking of it first!
The video below shows all kinds of funky ways of making it play, skip and pause. I want to know if the sound quality is as good as I hope though…

Big Brother

One of the most famous houses in Britain is undoubtedly the Big Brother house, it gets redesigned every year and always impresses with its new ideas on style. Its well known for having very ‘wacky’ sofas, beds and installs. One of my favourites being the Damien Hirst styled chickens in the 2007 house

The newest house for the 2009 series was supposed to be the most sparse yet with a very minimalist feel designed to give the housemates as little comfort as possible. The comfy sofas and big beds have been discarded in favour of wooden boxes and small, wooden, sofa shaped art pieces.
Everything is very curved in style and gives a nod to 60′s and 70′s sci fi futurism. The inclusion of lots more shrubbery in the garden and a smaller overall house will no doubt cause friction with the housemates (something im sure the producers actively want).
Of course, how long the rule of no sofas and rubbish beds lasted I have no idea. The design of the house is the only thing remotely interesting about Big Brother (imo!)
Well that and the fact the women housemates spend most of there time in there lingerie …
Interior Design and all that Jazz

Interior Design is something everybody (providing they have some kind of interior…) has. Wether it is good or not is a different story, If you chose the curtains, the sofa, a picture or a bed, you can be proud to call yourself an interior designer. I know some people may get a bit picky with that statement but well interior design/decoration its all the same too me!
I want to see all the crazy, different, possibly even the disturbing examples of great interior design. Screw the Politics!
Over the days/weeks/minutes or years that try to update this blog I’ll be showing examples of awesome work to inspire anyone who needs it
BTW the Wiki page is here that says what interior design actually is…I much preferred my description.
