Chaise Lounge Sofas
Posted by Jeff Awesome in Interior Design on December 22nd, 2009
Right going on a bit of a weird tangent here but can somebody please explain to me what the hell Chaise Lounge sofas are for?
I understand that you are supposed to sit on them but are you supposed to be in a half lying half sitting position? I find the worst thing about watching TV in the bedroom is the fact you are sitting down with your legs out in front of you, like how I presume you should sit on a chaise lounge sofa, so this to me doesn’t seem like a very good piece of furniture!
Seriously I need someone to explain the reason for them because to me it is just an uncomfortable version of a normal sofa.
Anyway the reason I started this post was mainly just to post pictures of this chaise lounge I found. Pointless and uncomfortable but it just looks amazing! It would suit a minimalist room perfectly and most minimalist rooms are pretty pointless and uncomfortable anyway…
Design Icons – The Coca Cola Bottle
Posted by Jeff Awesome in General Design on December 22nd, 2009
Really it is from 1915 on when it got the famous curvy shape. A shape now so related to the bottle that people actually say the coke bottle shape. They have many variations nowadays with huge plastic bottles and smaller plastic bottles but they do still have glass ones available in some places, albeit at a huge cost!
Now though the famous coca cola red might be going in place of a non painted can that will be embossed with the logo. It is a new concept by Ryan Harc designed to save on toxic paints and to make it easier to recycle. It is a great idea to help stop the effects of climate change but how much coca cola like the idea I don’t know. It does look amazing though!
Design Icon: VW Split Screen Vans
Posted by Jeff Awesome in General Design on December 11th, 2009
The split screen Volkswagen camper van or the ‘Type 2‘ is a design legend, what other van conjures up the same feelings and universal love and respect that a ‘hippy van’ does?
Named the type 2 because it was the second car that VW made after the Type 1, otherwise known as the Beetle. It came in loads of different variations including pick-up, van, minibus, 2 door, 4 door, the list went on and then as it got older and more popular more and more versions were available.
Modified highly from the early days when hippies used to replace the VW badge on the front with peace signs, until now when it is one of the most famous and coveted vans modifiers want to get their hands on.
So lets all appreciate the Volkswagen Type 2 in all its glorious and individual beauty!
My personal favourite, the pick-up! The colours are gorgeous as well.
Of course some people like to add accessories to their vehicles, I’ll leave it up to you on whether that is a good thing or not.
They even look good when they are rusty!
Of course you can never go wrong with a few nice simple mods.
So here is to one of the greatest vehicles of all time and one of the best design icons in the last 100 years!
