Haiti Earthquake Appeal
Posted by Jeff Awesome in General Design on January 14th, 2010
Sorry about the off topic post but I’m sure as you all know on Tuesday there was an horrific earthquake in Haiti and it is feared that 100,000 people may have lost their lives and it has affected over 3 million already. This is just a quick post warning people to beware that there are some scams going around involving donation sites being set up, who are not connected to a proper charity.
If you want to donate to the Haiti earthquake please find a registered and recognised charity such as the oxfam page at donate Haiti earthquake or the Red Cross site. If you are in America you can also text HAITI to 90999 to automatically donate $10 through your phonebill.
Paris – The Designer Capital
Posted by Jeff Awesome in Interior Design on January 14th, 2010
Along with New York, Paris is undoubtedly the designer capital of the world with many a fashion starting on the Parisian catwalks and a culture everyone raves about. The wine and cake culture along with the beautiful and fashionable french people create a romance to the city like no other place in the world, all romantic films have a Parisian quality to them.
It is also the home to everything Bohemian and quirky, the ‘it’ celebs of a few years ago all drew heavily upon France and its capitals boho fashions, floaty skirts and a slight hippy quality go hand in hand with the oh so suave coffee shop dwelling socialite, who carries around the latest ‘it’ novel.
I think a pilgrimage to Paris should be on the cards to any design and fashion loving person and once you have landed a quick look for car hire in France for a suitably quirky car to hire (the Fiat 500 would be perfect) and the Parisian streets would become your new shopping playground!
Floating Lounger
Posted by Jeff Awesome in Interior Design on January 12th, 2010
This has got to be one of the best sofas I have ever seen, actually scratch that, this has got to be one of the best pieces of furniture full stop! It’s called the Hoverit Lounger, it is pretty damn expensive at £5,875 but damn it sounds amazing!
It is basically a lounge type sofa that floats in mid air by using magnets that repel each other, rest assured it does come all cushioned up and comfortable it is just pictured in its clear acrylic loveliness to show it off more.
So anyone feeling friendly and rich and want to buy me one?
Please!?!
