Well hopefully anyway, I’m renting so I just had to pay a couple hundred quid for the pleasure of getting referenced! They really do manage to make some money out of people in them there estate agents.
The house is coming unfurnished, which is bad for my wallet but excellent for some quality shopping time! I pretty much need everything after living in furnished student accommodation for the last 3 years so I will need every bit of furniture you can think of. I will need a bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a desk, a dining table and a couple sofas. And that is just to get me started when I move in!
The living room is also the dining room so getting a decent sized table and chairs at the back of the room enough to fit at least 4 people around is the biggest problem I have come across, its hard to find fold out tables or something similar that doesn’t look really cheap and tacky. I think we might just have to make a bar instead. With working taps!
Thankfully it looks like I will be getting the sofas from my old house so that saves me a good wedge of money so other than that the main thing I need as soon as I move in is a bed. I have these 3 choices I think at the moment, What do you think is best? (BTW these are all cheap as chips because I don’t have much money left over…)
Whatever one I get though I will probably end up getting van rental and going up to IKEA anyway because I can probably get most of what I need there for pretty cheap, ill just have to try and make sure I can shut the vans doors once I’ve loaded it all up! In fact I might even just look in the vans for sale section of the local papers and see if i can get one cheap, been toying with the need for a van for a while now. For all the little bits and pieces and decorations I think I might have to just raid a few charity shops because everyone knows you can find proper gems there.
