It was the London Fashion Week a few weeks ago and all the usual big names in the fashion industry were out in force to see the week long clothes parade, so for us normal people this means we can look forward to what we might be seeing a year or so down the line in the shops!
The London Fashion week is a huge event sponsored by Coutts & Co, which is a private bank that offers wealth management to professionals and one would imagine a few of the important people in the fashion industry. It was held this year from the 17th to the 22nd of September and is a continuous parade of catwalk shows and presentations by people like Vivienne Westwood and company’s like Pringle.
So lets have a look at what the next season has in store for everyone.
First off is every one’s favourite, Topman Design. Things seem to have gone very 90′s grunge in the Topman camp with big knitted jumpers, torn denim and oversized 3/4 length coats playing a bit part in their collection. It’s all a bit baggy for me but I do welcome any kind of nod to the grunge style that was huge in my youth.
Next up one of my favourites with J W Anderson. He has a quite 1970′s punk style with his use of tartan but isn’t afraid to go a bit more preppy at the same time utilising well fitting slim trousers and long sleeved collared tops. The high turn ups are definitely something to watch out for in the future and the use of boots, hi tops or contrasting socks will play an important part to the style.
And lastly we have the collection for any classic tailor fan who also likes to show off a bit, with the E. Tautz range. Saville Row style cutting with unfussy proportions and bold colours and patterns make this the perfect range for the gentleman that likes to show of a slight bit of eccentricity without going full Vic Reeves.
So that is a few of my favourites from the show to check out some more and have a look at all the collections visit their site here
