My Venus Fly Trap Is Flowering. I Think.

Ok so you know I said a while ago that I had moved into my new house and me and my house mate were thinking of getting some kind of flowers or plants to help decorate the house. Well a kind friend got us a small Venus Flytrap for our moving in party (which was amazing by the way). After the initial amazement of anyone that came over putting things in the traps to make them close up, it eventually started to look as if it was dying a bit. The flytraps were losing colour and a lot were completely dead. I was about to give up and pronounce it too far gone when tit started growing a shoot straight up the middle.

I’ve been looking out for it since and now the shoot is about 15 cm’s high and looks as if it going to flower! I didn’t even know they flowered so I’ve been looking up on Wikipedia (obviously) and it seems that most people stop the flowering because the traps die when its trying to flower. So it seems I’m too late to stop it now though, so I’m guessing that I will just have to let it flower properly, watch the traps die and then eventually it will start the cycle again yes?

Does anyone have any tips of things I should or shouldn’t be doing to make it grow properly?

This is what mine looks like now, except the traps aren’t as good and its in a pot…
