If you are like me and you are very proud of the house you have/are creating then you would be horrified if someone came in when you were out and stole all your furniture and belongings. That rare antique coffee table gone, the expensive and freshly re upholstered leather sofas gone, the TV and all your records, gone! Nobody would like that and it must be a horrible feeling to have it happen to you.

Well now it seems that thieves aren’t just targeting real life furniture because a virtual thieving spree is being investigated at the moment in Finland after ‘significant amounts of virtual property’ was stolen from over 400 users of the social networking site Habbo Hotel, where users can furnish their own ‘rooms’ for a fee.

The internet thieves used fake websites to steal user names and passwords and would then log in to the account and take the property, which they could then refund from their own accounts to get money. Or at least that’s what I presume anyway, I can’t really see how else they could get money from it.

I’m amazed that people spend real money to decorate virtual rooms and i’m even more amazed and upset that people would steal it! The old saying of ‘they will steal anything that’s not nailed down’ is pointless now because it seems that they will steal anything nowadays, even things that don’t technically exist!
