So My New House
Posted by Jeff Awesome in Interior Design on November 23rd, 2009
So my new house was cruelly ripped away from me just because I am 21. Nice. At least check my references and meet me and then hate me don’t discriminate just because of my age! Estate Agents and Landlords are generally not very nice people!
Anyway this has now happened twice but I think I may have found another new place with a nice letting agent who assures me he wouldn’t show me anything I would not be able to get…
It is a nice enough place but I mainly like it because it has a garage and parking outside and it is cheap. £110 cheaper than anything else I have seen. Downside is the living room looks like an old lady has just died in it.
Seriously WHAT THE HELL! thankfully those amazingly bad sofas will be leaving with the current tenant along with all of the furniture in there at the moment. I have a nice blue leather sofa ready to go in and those lampshades will be destroyed for the sake of humanity but other than that I’m a bit stuck because I would really like to fit a desk of some kind in there to use with my computer. I might need to take measurements if I get to see it again.
I fear it may be way to small to pull off any kind of minimalist look. One sofa and it will be cluttered!
More Funky Furniture
Posted by Jeff Awesome in Interior Design on September 3rd, 2009
As you know I like my furniture funky, but I also like my funky furniture to be a bit retro! Here are 3 of my favourite retro styles;
First off is the ever so iconic bubble chair. Always a winner and heavily in fashion again at the moment.
Then of course there is the American style diner table and chairs
They can even come with an iconic brand on it…
And then my number one choice……..Car sofas
Minimalism
Posted by Jeff Awesome in Interior Design on September 1st, 2009
One of my favourite styles for any room is anything along the theme of minimalism, clean sofas, whites and blacks, plain walls and simplicity. I think it comes from my slight OCD about tidiness, I would absolutely love a bedroom that was completely empty except a plain simple bed. No furniture anywhere, all the cupboards and wardrobes hidden away and simple colours. Sounds amazing. The only problem I have is my love of toys and gadgets, its all very well having all the TV peripherals hidden away but if you have something like and PS3 it needs to be out so you can use it, then inevitably it doesn’t get put away again. Therefore I will resort to showing you some lovely minimalist rooms that other people manage to have instead.
